Wie Johannes auf lesen.net berichtet, ist die internationale Version des Kindles derzeit ausverkauft.

Das überrascht doch gerade im Vorweihnachtsgeschäft.

Nicht wirklich.
1. Es gab in der Vergangenheit immer wieder Engpässe für den Kindle ab Thanksgiving, als es den nur für US gab
2. Es ist derzeit nicht ausverkauft für US und UK, nur für internationale Bestellungen ausser US und UK, weil die Produktionskapazität für beide Regionen reserviert wird.
Traurig, aber da UK und US deren grössten Märkten sind, und dort die Thanksgiving (US), Black Friday und Xmas (US und UK) die grossen Verkaufszeiten sind, verständlich.

Ca. zwei Monate Wartezeit, heftig. Aber gerade in den USA

Also ich habe meinen innerhalb von 3 Werktagen (Mittwoch bis Freitag erhalten) ...

Allerdings die 3G Variante, vielleicht ist die WiFi ja betroffen.

Zum reinen Lesen, ja. Einkaufen kann man damit meines Wissens nach aber nur im UK-Shop, und du musst dich dazu in UK aufhalten.

Danke fuer die Hilfe! Hab mich hier ein bisschen umgeschaut und der Kindle scheint fuer Deutschland keine gute Loesung zu sein. Ich habe selber einen hier in England und lese auschliesslich auf englisch, aber meine Schwester liest auf deutsch und ist technisch net sehr erfahren.

Hab mich auch bei Thalia und Libri umgeschaut, aber es scheint das der Oyo net so toll ist und des Buecher kaufen bei Libri mit nem Sony scheint ein bisschen kompliziert zu sein.

Der Kindle macht des hallt echt einfach hier in England, und sowieso kauf ich meistens bei BAEN ein. Da laesst man sich das Buch einfach zum Kindle emailen und schwupps hat mans dann.

Also ich denke ja solange es noch 2 verschieden (Haupt)Formate gibt (Mobi und epub) und die unterschiedlichsten Anbieter mit eigenem DRM bzw. nicht 100% igen DRM (Amazon, BAEN, Libri, Thalia, ...) und die Märkte auch noch total aufgesplittet sind (US Releases nur für US Markt, Amazon UK nur in UK, Deutsche Händler nur mit Buchpreisbindung, Europa Releases nicht in US ...

solange sollte jeder der sich wirklich ernsthaft mit ebooks beschäftigen will sich auch mit Calibre, DRM entfernen etc. auskennen.

Ansonsten hilft nur Papierbücher lesen (pfui ich habs gesagt) oder mit einem einzigen System versuchen glücklich zu sein und dann aber auch lieber nicht zuviel wollen.

Sollte Amazon wirklich in Kürze seinen Kindle Store in Deutschland eröffnen, tja dann würde mir die Wahl einfach fallen. Die Angebotsvielfalt von Amazon mit akzeptablen Preisen sowie der Vielfalt an Lesemöglichkeiten (Kindles, iPhone App, iPad App, BB) das wäre für mich und meine Bequemlichkeit das Optimum.

Ich habe meinen Kindle 3G vor einer Woche bestellt, da hiess es noch, er werde vor Weihnachten ausgeliefert. Im Moment steht: estimated delivery 6th - 24th Dec. in meiner Bestellhistory. Hoffentlich bleibt das auch so. Es ist zwar nicht eilig und ich brauche das Teil nicht unbedingt vor Weihnachten....aber Geduld war noch nie eine meiner Stärken ;-)

Was mich allerdings ziemlich nervt....ich hatte auch gleich ein Ladegerät für Europa und ein Cover bestellt und beides ist bereits angekommen.

Ich befürchte leider auch, dass das nichts mehr wird mit vor Weihnachten. Ich checke jeden Tag, ob sich was ändert bei der Lieferzeit. Bis jetzt steht noch immer, voraussichtliche Verschiffung 6. - 22. Dez.

Hallo zusammen,

vor zwei Wochen habe ich meiner Frau einen Kindle 3 Wifi zum Geburtstag geschenkt.
Der war auch sofort lieferbar und kam nach 2 Tagen per UPS!
Ich war dann so begeistert von dem Teil, das ich mir auch sofort einen bestellen wollte.
Als ich auf das entsprechende Produkt geklickt hatte...Expected to ship in 7 to 9 weeks
Rabäääh ;-)
Und irgendwie klickte ich dann auf der Webseite herum, unter anderem auf "Buy a Kindle"
oben im Menu und schwupp "Item in Stock".
Sofort bestellt und nach zwei Tagen da. habe es gerade ausprobiert..Ist immer noch so.

Vielleicht nützt es ja einem was. Ich finde den Kindle dank Calibre einfach spitze.
Wir haben uns vorher alle möglichen Reader angeschaut und keiner war so gut zu bedienen. Ach ja, und wer Calibre benutzt, sollte doch mal über eine Donation
nachdenken. Ich baue mir gerade ein Rezept für meine Tageszeitung zusammen und das klappt super. Jetzt wird beim Frühstück Kindle gelesen.

Stimmt, dass ist dann aber die US-Version des Kindle, die ist tatsächlich ab Lager zu haben. Aber funktioniert die auch hier in Europa? Ich habe mich - ehrlich gesagt - nicht getraut, die US-Version zu bestellen.

Du hast recht, ich habe tatsächlich 2 US Versionen bestellt...Ist mir
gar nicht aufgefallen.
Es funktioniert alles. Sie waren korrekt auf mich registriert. WiFi funktioniert.
Bücher kaufen und MOBI draufspielen.
Der einzige Unterschied bestand darin, das ein US Stromadapter beilag.
Brauch ich auch nicht, da man ja doch mittlerweile diverse USB Ladegeräte hat.
Und es gab auch keinen Hinweis beim Bestellen, das ich die Internationale Version
nehmen müsste.
Also ich bin voll zufrieden mit dem Teil.
