The New Yorker recipe - missing author info

the recipe works great but it does not seem to record the bylines (the name of each article's author) either in the articles themselves or in the TOC. Does anyone notice this? Any thoughts on how to fix it?

Tried to change the code but nothing seems to have changed. New Version (2.8) also does not seem to address this either.
