kobopatch request thread

- Disable orphans/windows avoidance (lib

In nickel.yaml:

- Reduce top/bottom page spacer
- Dictionary pop-up - increase available text area
- Reduce new header/footer height
- Custom header/footer captions
- Custom page navigation scrubber
- Increase size of kepub chapter progress chart

In libnickel.so.1.0.0.yaml:

- My 24 line spacing values
- Custom left & right margins
- Custom font sizes
- ePub disable built-in body padding/bottom
- Custom kepub default margins
- Dictionary text font-family/font-size/line-height
- Custom navigation menu page number text
- Shorten dictionary entry not found message
- Increase page navigation history
- Always show confirmation dialog before upgrading
- Disable all tutorial dialogs
- Remove recommendations (row1col2) from home screen
- Remove title from reading header/footer
- Don't uppercase header/footer text and change page number text
- FeatureSettings - MyWords


As you see in that last one, I even have that featureSetting enabled in the patch itself. I don't see anything that could be making it so I don't have an Activity tab? What am I missing? Should I be enabling something, to see Activity?

No, Activity doesn't need enabling.

Strange. I use many of those patches too. If you undo the patches, does Activity appear again?

Which Kobo do you have and which firmware is it running?

I suggest you update to 4.38.23171 and then apply the patches from https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=366569 and see how it goes. The one difference in these patches is that you put in the yes/no in the kobopatch.yaml file. instead of the individual yaml files in the src directory.

The reason for this is most are running 4.38.23171 so it might help to run the same firmware version so you can hopefully see what they see.

My Sage is running 4.34. It still has Activity, just like the Libra 2.

Ok. I just updated firmware. Patches are obviously gone, as expected. However, I still don't have the activity tab nor any extras in the "More". Just "Settings" and "Help". I will do a factory reset later today and see how it goes. Really weird..

Ahhh! Parental control was apparently ON, for some reason. Disabled it fixed everything...

I patched and I have no such options. There is no "Extra" nor is there "Activity". When I long-press a word, I can add it to "My Words", that is, I do see the "Add to my words" button. However, I have no way of seeing a list of previously added words. And this is a patch thing.

All I see when I go to the "More" tab is "Settings" and "Help".

I tried adding "MyWords=true" to the config file but nothing changed. I still can't find my words anywhere. What I want is a way to access my words!

Patching is not needed. However, it may easily be that your patches have broken something. When I tap on More, I see My Wishlist, My Dropbox, My Google Drive, My Articles, Activity, Beta Features, Setting and Help.

Unless you have turned Parental Controls on, I really can't see any other way that you could see the results you are seeing.

My Kobo Clara BW’s dictionary always shows this redundant sentence “Search results for “word selected”” after every search. As I have enabled Large Print and used Kobopatch to enlarge the dictionary text, this sentence is now taking nearly half of the pop-up window’s space.

Is there any way to disable this sentence completely?
