I'll need to see the syslog, as I can't reproduce that issue.

Remove your book, type "devmodeon" into the book search, add your book, plug it in again once it's imported, get the latest .kobo/syslog-* file, then type "devmodeoff" to disable it again.

Note: NickelSeries still works correctly with 4.23.15505.

Hi,

I have noticed that if there is a calibre:series entry without a calibre:series_index entry (use case: Series omnibus'), NickelSeries does not seem to pick up the series information.

@xyclonei: What's the user-case for that?

(Genuine question, as I think I tweaked the implementation to behave that way too in KOReader ).

@ NiLuJe I use this so that Omnibus books show up as a series.

For example, the 4 book Ender's Saga series is available as a single book called the Ender's Quartet, and I would like to tag this as a series without a series index.

I hope that made sense.

I was under the impression that calibre could not have a book in a series without a series_index. If I try removing the series index when editing the metadata by clearing the field, it will be replaced by 0.00 when I finish editing.

Personally, for the Ender's Quartet, I would use 1.04 as the series index.

NickelSeries treats a zero series index as non-existent.

Interestingly, seriesmeta seems to be able to process just the series name with empty indices correctly.

Is there is a difference in how seriesmeta and NickelSeries read the metadata?

Yes, it's partly by design, and partly to simplify the parser. If you want, I can add support for reading Calibre series metadata with the name only.
