And whilst we're on the subject of Vegemite sandwiches. Amazon.com has plenty of Vegemite. It also has Frank Herbert God Emperor of Dune for $1.99.

Kind of an odd one to go on sale since it doesn't even come out until the end of the month, but...

Cast in Oblivion (The Chronicles of Elantra) by Michelle Sagara - $1.99 (reg $8.99)
Amazon US ($1.99 only at Amazon at this point)
Quote:
POLITICS ARE HELL

Kaylin wasn’t sent to the West March to start a war. Her mission to bring back nine Barrani might do just that, though. She traveled with a Dragon, and her presence is perceived as an act of aggression in the extremely hostile world of Barrani-Dragon politics. Internal Barrani politics are no less deadly, and Kaylin has managed—barely—to help the rescued Barrani evade both death and captivity at the hands of the Consort.

Before the unplanned “visit” to the West March, Kaylin invited the Consort to dinner. For obvious reasons, Kaylin wants to cancel dinner—forever. But the Consort is going to show up at the front door at the agreed-upon time. The fact that she tried to imprison Kaylin’s guests doesn’t matter at all…to her.

A private Barrani Hell, built of Shadow and malice, exists beneath the High Halls. It is the High Court’s duty to jail the creature at its heart—even if it means that Barrani victims are locked in the cage with it. The Consort is willing to do almost anything to free the trapped and end their eternal torment. And she needs the help of Kaylin’s houseguests—and Kaylin herself. Failure won’t be death—it will be Hell. And that’s where Kaylin is going.

Archivist Wasp and Latchkey by Nicole Kornher-Stace are on sale for $2.99 and $0.99 in many major retailers.

Links here: https://mythicdelirium.com/7308

Goodreads

I suggest using Weightless Books, where the author and publisher should get the biggest share.

The two books form of the Archivist Wasp Saga. Here's the summary of the first one:
Quote:
A postapocalyptic ghosthunter escapes her dire fate by joining the ghost of a supersoldier on his quest to the underworld.

Wasp’s job is simple. Hunt ghosts. And every year she has to fight to remain Archivist. Desperate and alone, she strikes a bargain with the ghost of a supersoldier. She will go with him on his underworld hunt for the long-lost ghost of his partner and in exchange she will find out more about his pre-apocalyptic world than any Archivist before her. And there is much to know. After all, Archivists are marked from birth to do the holy work of a goddess. They’re chosen. They’re special. Or so they’ve been told for four hundred years.

Archivist Wasp fears she is not the chosen one, that she won’t survive the trip to the underworld, that the brutal life she has escaped might be better than where she is going. There is only one way to find out.

Archivist Wasp is $1.80 at Kindle US right now, for me, at least. Latchkey is also on sale and coupon/VIPable at Kobo US.

Has anyone read Girl on the Moon?

It's been published by Amazon (not just self-published) and is currently just £1.00

It looks interesting, but I'd rather get a personal recommendation on way or another.

I've read it. Not terrible, I'll read the sequel at some point.

If you missed Italo Calvino - Italian Folktales last time it was discounted, here's your chance to miss it again. It's currently available at Amazon.com for $2.99.

One of the reviews complains that the Kindle edition is abridged, but that points to a different version which no longer exists. I believe, but cannot guarantee, that this edition (800 pages) is the whole enchilada. It certainly has far more than 53 stories listed in the contents.
