Request indicator

it would be great if I would see an indicator when i'm downloading something. currently, if i download an software update, i cannot see if he is indeed downloading or stuck. an little indicator what is moving in the top bar of the screen would be great.

also an event-file or an error-log. that give the user a possibility to locate a problem or view where it hangs..

Not for the software upgrade, but I see two download indicators usually. One is the download manager, where the title, size and bar indicator shows progress of individual titles. The other is the download arrow in the status bar. When downloading, the arrow is slightly animated, with a bar going down the arrow. This last update did have graphics on both the lcd and eInk screens, which I liked. However, I went to have dinner, so I didn't watch the whole time.

Or is this something else that I'm clueless about? :-)

Yeah, during updates I also find it rather disconcerting not to know what's going on.

In this last update, weren't there some graphics? Or, was that only for installing the update? I was in a hurry and didn't pay close attention. Dinner was ready ; -)

That was just during the actual installation.

as an example, when i receive an email with a PDF, i would like to see that it's downloading. as soon as I open the mail, he starts downloading, but the sign or icon or whatever you wanna call it, stands still.. when i wanna save it, it also shows a graphic sign, but this one also starts and stands still..

right, in the meantime i found something like an error log. it's called Sendlog what i found surfing around on Slideme. it makes indeed a report and you send it to any address you like. i'm still checking it out,but so far it looks cool.
does anybody knows this app and has some experience with it?
