No need to leave additional comments here this is the same thing as the discussion mpd started except in poll form. I think the results would be interesting:

Tablets have too much to distract you from your book

Nothing distracts me from my book. Not even work.

I've found that if a book has me engrossed (on my tablet), I'm just as unlikely to stop reading it to check my email, browse the web, or fire up a game as I would be to put an ereader down, grab the TV/game remote and fire up a show/game. From my reading chair, distractions are always at my fingertips ... regardless of the device I'm reading on.
So I never really bought the distraction argument. Good books keep me engrossed; not so good books don't. *shrugs* I commented anyway; sue me. |

My ereader has buttons. My tablet has long screen smudges.

I can use the volume buttons on my tablet to turn my pages (using Aldiko). If you are reading a good book, you won't allow yourself to get distracted by anything else, if you do, that is YOUR fault not the tablet.

I prefer to read on my e-readers. My tablets have too many distractions to do any serious reading on them.

E-reader for my old eyeballs! Tablets give me a killer headache after just a few minutes. I can read on an e-reader for hours.

It could also be the BOOK'S fault, if you find yourself getting distracted.

I think cFrizz made that point in her post, "If you are reading a good book," then no distraction... |

There have been times when I stopped reading one book so that I can read another one instead. 99% of the time I use my tablet for reading. |
