I have a new jailbroken Kindle Waiting for confirmation that it will survive firmware update

Where to start to debug this issue?

What makes you think it is an issue?

What is the current firmware version running?
What are the first six characters of the serial number?

Why are you asking in this thread?
This thread topic has nothing at all to do with a jailbreak surviving an update.
The rule here is: New Topic, New Thread - that is: No thread hijacking allowed.

You said that we can debug the issue if it's jail broken. Anyway the new one has 3g, so no problem if I can't connect it to wifi

The confirmation I wait should be given in the other thread, not here

So why do you think that the jailbreak surviving an update would be an issue?
Is your device something that isn't covered by:
Quote:
If jailbroken on an earlier firmware version, the jailbreak is known to survive the update to either 5.8.8, 5.8.9, 5.8.9.2. or 5.8.10
It should survive an update to any firmware version. It is designed to be viral.

Again, what you quote are the instructions here, on the jailbreak thread

I assume that what you write in the first post of the jailbreak thread does not apply to me.
Why?
Because I did NOT follow your instructions. In particular I used a different hotfix than the one you use in your instructions (passage 6)
The hotfix you suggested in passage 6 did not work for me. So I am using a different one

I am using coplate's hotfix instead of NiLuJe one

The jailbreak thread is using the latter. I am using the former

Was I clear this time?

It's the same hotfix, that's why I left the name 1.14 in the name.

The only difference is the way it is packages up, it installs the exact same.
