Sideloading epubs and mobis to the iPad under Linux

There was a thread a while back about sideloading epubs to an iPad under Linux which suggested using Calibre's content server functionality.

You can also do this directly using a USB cable and the nook app for iPad. Copy the epubs from the Calibre Library directory (just the epub, not the whole folder) to the 'Documents on iPad/nook/Documents' folder, then restart the nook app and they should appear in your Library. The nook folder will be hidden on your PC, so you'll need to press Ctrl-H to see it. This trick will also work with mobi files and the Kindle app. A Calibre device driver for the iPad could perhaps be written to automate this but that's over my head. I'm using Linux Mint 11 and iPad version 5.1.1.

You dont need a device driver, just use connect to folder (click the connect/share button in calibre)
