How can I get contents inside toc.ncx?

I've no idea what the correct format is for TOC's of epubs or how they're structured... but, I have two epubs of which the TOC's (toc.ncx files) only include: Cover; Begin reading; Author biography; Title page; Copyright page; Dedication page; Acknowledgements and Contents. All of them useless links if you're in the middle of the book and want to jump to a certain chapter.

The epubs also have a contents.opf file... which have the nice list of links to the chapters. I'd like these to show up in the real TOC when I'm reading. How would I go about doing that?

Thanks!

Nevermind, I found my answer with a google search:

https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=129364
and
http://manual.calibre-ebook.com/conv...le-of-contents

and then found the TOC options in Calibre's conversion settings. I must have been looking all over the place except for there (stupid). For some reason the TOC's wouldn't update with the chapters Calibre found (despite the limit being set high enough) -- I had to "Force use of auto-generated TOC."

Glad I have my TOC's now

I would recommend using epub fixer if all you want to do is add a correct toc as an epub to epub conversion is not loss less
https://code.google.com/p/epubfixer/
