Pirate Series for Teenagers
Any recommendations for a fantasy series involving pirates? What I'm looking for is a story that follows a pirate crew over a span of 3 or more books. Specifically, pirates that battle supernatural antagonists, with teenage protagonists.

The definitive "Pirates and the Supernatural" book would perhaps be Tim Powers' "On Stranger Tides", but it's certainly not a children's book.

Seems like you're looking for a pirate version of Harry Potter. I'll have a think.
Which end of teenage are we talking here? Teenagers can be quite sophisticated. |

The Chathrand Voyage series by Robert VS Redick might appeal.

Peter Pan has pirates.
Moonfleet is about smugglers. And there is Treasure Island. All free. |

Lots of books about pirates, and lots of books about the supernatural. It's the combination of the two that's tricky!

When I want a particular genre I always head to manybooks. They nicely organise books by genre and have Pirate Tales:
http://manybooks.net/categories/PIR If you find something you like - I saw some interesting ghosty books - return to MR and see if it's in the library here: the books are far better formatted. This one looks fun and has some good reviews: http://manybooks.net/titles/hodgsonw10961096610966.html Last edited by BookCat; 10-13-2017 at 11:46 AM. Reason: added link |

If nothing else BabyBoy why not try to write such a series yourself? It sounds like an interesting concept.
