Calibre fails to start on WinXP

Running WinXP, and getting the following error:
"The procedure entry point SetDllDirectoryA could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll."

Tried to run calibre-debug and got an identical error.

Any thoughts?

that indicates a corrupted Kernel32.dll

The function SetDllDirectory has to be present in it. The most likely reason for the corruption is a virus.

I don't really know what to tell you. Your kernel32.dll is corrupted, if I was you I'd be re-installing windows, but...
