azw3 files

Amazon is sometimes giving me azw3 files and I cant convert them. Am I missing a plug in?

Not by default. You need an external plugin and you need to have Kindle for PC. Search for Apprentice ALF.

Calibre does not remove drm by default nor will being able to remove drm ever be made part of calibre's core. Mobileread rules prevent giving you detailed instructions on how to remove drm so follow JSWolf's advice for more info.
