Not also that James H. Schmitz has a few mystery stories, and Keith Laumer, off the top of my head.

Thraxas is heaps of fun as mentioned earlier.

Lord Darcy probably is a good starting place if you like some of those old school investigator upper crust types.

Well, a lot of science fiction have some puzzle to solve but I would not call them mysteries. I really like James H. Schmitz but the stories does not read as mysteries. They are more adventure stories.

Schmitz also wrote a number of well-respected mysteries (not SF). Titles escape me at the moment, though.

Not what I said. There are a few mystery stories. I did _not_ say all Schmitz was relevant.
