Opinion for a Pocketbook

I mean to try a pocketbook but I use a lot the popup dictionary while reading, so I was thinking: is it like the kobo? And: is the font size and line spacing of the pop up window of the dictionary, customizable (at least with a patch like the kobo).

A second worry was: does the pocketbook handle well big PDF (for example 50 MB)?
And then: which is the responsiver/faster model? (The basic 3 seems quick but has the popup dictionary like the kobo?)

many thanks

You can zoom in and zoom out size of the font in PB's dictionary window (using pinch gesture). It depends on firmware version (and only on readers with touch screen). Some old firmware version doesn't have such feature. You can't add any patches as easy as in Kobo unfortunately.

All eReeaders have problems with big PDFs. You could expect problems with heavy files in PocketBook as well. They are not as fast as Kindle Oasis 3 for example. But there are much more options to read PDFs as normal e-book. PocketBooks could display pages (divided) screen by screen which is not available on Kobos.

Or you can use another reader software, f.i. KoReader or Coolreader, the later allows tinkering with the dictionary window via the skin file but doesn't open pdf's.
PDF size does not say anything about the readability. I've seen pdf's of only 10 pages on which 2 pages where full of little vector graphics, demanding the most of any pdf viewer and other 50mb pdf files with hundreds of pages, beeing very easy to view on my pocketbook. All Pocketbooks are using comparable software (if compared in the same firmware number range).
FYI this is what you can change in Coolreader regarding the dictionary:

Are you saying that the Pocketbook Inkpad 3 Pro is slower then the Kindle Oasis?

But from what I've seen online, the PB is much better at handling PDF and the larger screen helps.

I'm interested in getting a Pocketbook touch lux 4. May I have your general opinion?

I also have a question: I have downloaded the manual from the site and I've seen in the photo that there is an option for auto frontlight, but in some video reviews I don't see it. Is there this option or not? The frontlight is warm or not? Does it make it difficult to sleep after reading?

What about the scroll (etc.) speed?

Thank you in Advance!
