I said tadpoles, yes Okay - really just the spawn at this stage - mind this morning they are looking a bit sad for themselves with ice on the upper surfaces and they are looking a bit black - hopefully the ones underneath may survive - though there will be more laid over the next few weeks (I hope).

My rocket is soaring up! And the tomato sprouts are also growing, and the chive too. No sign of the tarragon, I suppose it will be a failure this year too.

Our pear tree is in bloom (the picture doesn't do it justice), and Norton is unimpressed (perhaps because he sees the grass needs it's first cutting this year).

My hubby is so pleased with himself. He has the three 'birds of paradise'
which he has been nurturing in full bloom. 'Photos are being taken and will be sent to various relatives. I'm happy for him. Cheers. |

We had a pear tree in our yard when I was a kid - all I remember is the hordes of wasps that would appear when the ripe pears began falling to the ground and rotting!

Don't care for wasps, but haven't seen too many in the years we've had it. Saw a bee yesterday. That's a plus! I'd like to keep some, but the wife won't hear of it.
