I am going to tell my daughter that there are many things you can do to an abusive husband while he sleeps.

Yes, there are, but in my opinion the best thing you can to do him while he sleeps is LEAVE HIM.

My mom was badly abused by my step dad. If i were able to go back in time I would rip his head off.

My wife stopped me from hurting the guy in the present but if I can learn of a way to go back in time and get the guy in his prime then it's on. The good that came out of it is that my mother became a social worker and started helping other women in similar circumstances. She was Ohio social worker of the year or something like that for her efforts.

So many women can never recover from that kind of abuse. I hope you're very proud of her for actually turning her experiences into a way to help others. Good for her!

It makes me happy to hear of women that were abused bring able to get past it an better their lives.

My mother was abused by her first husband, luckily he shot himself after she left him.

My husbands mother was badly beaten by his father for 20 years while he was growing up. Total drunk. Spends most of his days outside his local beer store. He beat her so bad sometimes that I don't know how she's still alive. She finally got the courage to leave him about 10 years ago and she treats everyday like it's a blessing and she's the sweetest, most kind person I have ever met. She's in her 70's now and retired and is enjoying life.

I too would love to be able to deal with all men that think they can get away with abusing their wives and children.

My wife worked with a woman whose mother was beaten frequently. Her husband would come home drunk, remove his clothes (don't ask why, I don't know), and beat her. That is until one night he came home drunk, threw off his clothes, and before he could go into part three of his act, she grabbed hold of a convenient protuberance and dragged him around the bedroom for about an hour. He never messed with her again.
