The error you're getting, especially because it's with both conversion and device plugins, suggests a problem with the book itself. Where did you purchase these books from?

I'm going to PM you soon with a link, please upload both the books for the two errors you posted here so I can take a look at them.

What I find strange is that had not happened to me with a book before.

No DRM on that book, but maybe all his/her books come from the same source, which uses the same standard to create the books, so maybe it's a problem with that standard.

Most of the time, when opening with Sigil and I have bad books, Sigil will tell.
In our country they don't use DRM, but I red something about a change in Adobe's DRM scedule so it was a wild guess.. The latest book i bought from Google could only been opened and right transferred by the newest ADE (4.5) all older versions failed..

ilicitanosoy, where did you purchase these books from? Are you using the latest plugin version? I can't reproduce the issue with either book, which is going to make it very hard to debug. Although perhaps it's something unique to Windows, I saw some warnings from ntpath in the log you posted.

Would that be relevant if the NT Path is falling back to DOS mode and being represented as "C:\Users\JESS~1"?

Or at least, being printed out like that

My windows version is Windows 10

I have all pluggings updated.

Before I was working perfectly . Will it be Windows 10 ? If we can not find the problem I have to forget Kepub functionalities . Sorry if I'm causing problems.

The epub can pass without any problems , it appears that the conversion fails.

Did you use the latest version ADE 2.0.1?

I just added a free eBook to my Google library and when I downloaded it, it loaded just fine using ADE 2.0.1.78765 (latest version 2.0.1).

How long before? Were you using Windows 10 the last time it worked? Were you using the current version of calibre and the plugins or did you update since the last time it worked?

I don't have any version of Windows to test things with. Even determining if it's Windows will involve a lot of back-and-forth where I ask you to try something, maybe even something tiny, and give me the results unless anyone else who wants to help can reproduce the issue. And if they do, I can send them the same books you sent me. Then it'll be a lot of back-and-forth with different people trying different things

Unfortunately, Python 2 doesn't really deal with Unicode as nicely as I would prefer. Python 3 does much better, but migrating calibre to Python 3 isn't exactly trivial.
