I just started The Man with the Iron Heart by Harry Turtledove
It's about an insurgency movement by a German underground headed by an SS officer right after Germany signed the peace. In other words German terrorists. Very interesting so far!

I finally finished The Yiddish Policemen's Union by Michael Chabon. It is a fantastic read if you're in the mood for fiction on the more literary end of the scale. I must have been, because I loved it.

Next, I may be reading Flood by Stephen Baxter.

I'm wrapping up "The Bride Price," and next I'm on to "Fool Moon" by Jim Butcher. Then "Refuge" for the MRBC pick

Finished Assassin's Quest yesterday.
All in all, good ending.

Spoiler:
Glad that he has finally given up on Moly. It was frustrating sometimes. Such a "comely" young man was devoted to a single woman he has not seen for monthes/years. I am not saying it would be a bad trait, it was just too unreal. It was so obvious that because she knew him to be dead, she will have to move on and find a new partner/real husband. Fanatical loyalty to the monarchy Skill imprinted to Royal was a nice stroke

Don't know what to read now. I would like to read a couple of "stand alone"s before I start either The Sarantine Mosaic by Guy Gavriel Key, or Tawny Man by Robin Hobb.

From stand alone books on my TRL I have to choose between:
The Surgeon by Gerritsen Tess (have not read real thrillers for ages!)
The Puppet Masters by Robert Heinlein
The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
1984 by George Orwell
The Satanic Verses by Salman Rushdie
Peshawar Lancers by S.M. Stirling

Probably I will start with Heinlein...

I know it's silly of me, but I am so pleased that you did. As mentioned, he's on my list of "read everything" authors, and I've heard that The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay is even better.

Cheers,
Marc

Damn I've already finished "Fool Moon." I went to put the third book on my list and saw Sony has it for $16. Odd, because it came out years ago and Sony says it came out in November. Stupid Penguin publishers, I have a feeling this is their fault. Sent an email off to Sony anyway, asking them nicely to see what they can do about it.

They have a month (I try to buy books only once a month). If I can wait that long. I really like this series.

Intersting. Book 3 isn't even listed in the Kindle store. There is 1,2,4-9. They are 6.39 and 5.59.

I should note that I think book five or seven or something is not on Sony's store though. Boo.

Funnily enough, I've heard the same thing. I'll probably get it soon.

I've started Flood by Stephen Baxter.

The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay is an incredible book and was a winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Best Novel a few years ago.

I finished Chapterhouse Dune, House Artreides, House Harkonnen and House Corrino last week. And I started on The Butlerian Jihad yesterday. I'd say that was a holiday well spent!
