I'll trade ya. I rather have lower hundreds than 107-113 the humidity here is horrible though. Makes it hard to breath outside.

The thunder storms didn't start until just before 4am this morning and during the night it was horribly muggy, it still is. Luckily tonight will be a nice, cool night at 11-12C. This afternoon there will be rain, hopefully I can leave work a bit earlier so I don't have to cycle back to my friends' place in the rain (since I'm picking up an order at a supplier before the store opens this morning I think I can convince my father to let me leave early).

It's 107F here (real temp) and climbing. We got two more days of this and it supposed to be hotter tomorrow.

My sinuses feel like a desert.
The heat index is crazy out. I hope everyone let's there pets Inside today.

Okay it seems we have reached our high of....109F
News are telling everyone stay inside. We have cooling shelters set up. This heat is no joke. It's dangerously hot and humid.

Cooling shelters? I am guessing those are places for people to get out of the heat.

Yes they are. They have cots and refreshing stations. So you can go for a few hours or even spend the night. A heatwave is just as dangerous as a natural disaster.

I think a heatwave is a natural disaster. I was just amazed that they would do something like that up there but down here where it hits 100's on a fairly regular basis, we have nothing in place for the super hot days.

It saves lives. No one here is accustomed to such temps. St Louis has had several heatwaves. In the 90s it got soooo hot one year people were dying all over. That's when this program was set up. Ameren has a no disconnection rule on hot days. Local places have fans and some even window units for elderly, disable and people with kids. Cooling centers for anyone even homeless.

Everything is done to make sure what happened during I believe it was 95 or 96 never happens again.

We have non-shut off days both in the summer and winter if it gets and stays over or under a certain temperature for several days.

Now I want to see something, can you still check your daily electric usage? If so, could I possibly have your kilowatt usage when you get your bill since we had the same number of 100+ degree days last month that you are having this month.
The average kilowatt usage last month here was 1002.

The weather was lovely today. 21C, sunny, a nice breeze and a cool night and morning. Add an occasional nightly rain shower and I wouldn't mind a whole summer of like this. Unfortunately, tomorrow is set to be 26C, rain showers and cloudy (which means it will be very humid).

It's 110F out! the a/c was struggling. Turns out "someone" open the vent so it was blowing outside air instead of inside air. Cool air is back now.

Today was better than predicted, some sun, occasionally some rain and with 19C a bit cooler than predicted. The next couple of days will be wet, hopefully it will be (reasonably) dry when I have to go to work and back, I hate cycling in the rain.
