Thanks for the positive vibes, prayers, well-wishes, and assorted other kindnesses, folks. Yup, hubby is OK. He had a reaction to the anaesthetic which isn't particularly rare and should have been checked for before leaving hospital. Grrr! So he got almost all the way home with his Mum and then had to be rushed to hospital again... a different one Like I said, he's OK, but it caused a lot of excess pain and misery that was utterly unnecessary.

On the bright side, he says thanks too

I run Symantec Corporate here. It's low resource and has never caused a real problem. A few updates ago it did decide a few ancient DOS programs were infected and quarantined them, but that was the first time it had ever caused a problem. I had the distribution archives for the programs, so fixing the problem was a matter of putting thi directory where they live in the Do Not Scan list and installing fresh copies.

I wouldn't touch Norton A/V with a stick. Too many cases of "Does not play well with others", and harder to remove once you've decided it's a problem rather than a cure than a fair bit of what it's supposed to protect against.

I am bemused about how two A/V products from the same vendor should be so different in quality.
