Our car tells us it's currently 63° in Chesapeake, Virginia. Anyone see The Day After?

Been years. Most of it was filmed about 100 miles west of me.
And hot here today.

It's currently 62° with what AccuWeather calls a "Real Feel" of 59. A nice reprieve from our usual June temps, but by Sunday the mercury is scheduled to creep back up to 90 and by Wednesday we're supposed to hit 93°.

Very overcast today. Lots of rain lately, and the grass was already tall in the dog pen because our push mower went belly up last week. We bought a new one, but the grass has been too wet to cut.

Poohbear_nc - still pushing that Fiskars? I was thinking of finally breaking down and buying one.

76 right now. It is supposed to get to over 90 today.

Now I have a visual of a chicken mowing the lawn with scissors.

An absolutely gorgeous day here - low 70's F, breezy, no humidity! We'll be back in the 90's F this weekend!

Yes - still pushing the Fiskars - still cutting well. I treasure the quiet while cutting (no noisy or smelly engine). And you never have to sharpen the blades.

It's always astonishing/frightening/terrifying to remove its cover for the first time each year - and finding what moved in over the winter. Squirrels sheltered under it this past winter, and an ant colony tried to set up inside the cover last month during the monsoon rains. Last night a mama wolf spider, with her egg sac attached, ran out when I uncovered the mower.

Today was a "transitional" day. The past couple of days were cool, with highs in the 60s, and wet (if not actually raining). Today was overcast with temps in the low 70s. By the weekend we're due to hit the 90s and it should be sunny again.

It'll rain, with possible thunder and hail, until mid-afternoon. Then the sun comes out and temperatures reach 20C. Tomorrow and Sunday will be warmer; 23-25C, and mostly dry.

Thanks for that. I've rarely heard a critical word about them, except for one or two people who felt that the amount of plastic on them could be an indication that their shelf life may be a bit limited. It's reassuring to know yours is still going strong.

The warm up starts today. We should be at 81° F (Real Feel: 85) by the late afternoon. Not too shoddy for mid-June in Tidewater, Virginia.

it was donners koud (very cold) today, between -4C to -8C and a wind that howls around the corners, or thru the opening in the window

I have the Fiskars 17 Inch Staysharp Push Reel Lawn Mower (6208) - it was an older model on sale at Amazon, with no bells or whistles.

Yes - I was surprised at the amount of plastic - but it's tough! And relatively light-weight. I've been using mine now for (I think) 3 or 4 years.

85 feels like 96.
No wonder the dog was doing exaggerated pants so I would turn on the AC.

I've had the Fiskars 18 Inch Staysharp Max Reel Mower for five years now, and I can honestly say I'm as happy with it now as I was when I bought it. It's a BIG improvement over the old iron push mower I was using.
