It's cold! The windchill hasn't made it out of the minus numbers since Friday. And nor'easter Stella is on her way. I hate winter all the time, but it's especially hard to take in mid-March.

Yesterday was bright and sunny with temperatures in the high 70's to low 80's. We thought about uncovering the air conditioner.
Glad we didn't. As I post this, it is 42 with fog and mist. So we have the heater on. |

Sorry. I was time-traveling and forgot to set my clocks back to Thursday. (I've never been able to get the hang of Thursdays anyway.) |

Steady rain, and later on, gusty winds.

S**w. That was a given, but it's the heavy wet stuff and the winds are starting to pick up, which is not a good combination. I'm hoping hard there's no power outage, which would be misery in the extreme.

If there is, I imagine you won't be able to TELL us that there is, either. Unless on a cell phone, for a short while before it runs out of power. Bummer! Y'all okay so far?

Oh Issy I forgot you can't drive at the moment. Stay safe hon. If you got any plastic water bottles or milk jugs. Fill them full of cold water and place them in the freezer around food. They will act like ice packs to keep food from spoiling. Ziplock bags can work too if airtight.

We got about 10 inches of snow, which is a bit less than predicted, but it's the dense, wet stuff and the bottom layer is pure slush. My next door neighbors have snow blowers and even they're having trouble since this stuff has the consistency of wet cement.
I'm concentrating on shoveling a path up our driveway to the street. If I can expose some blacktop the sun will keep it clear. The cars are parked at the curb up on the street and the street has been plowed, so we can get out when we need to. This time of year it won't be sticking around long. The temperatures are supposed to be around the freezing point for a few days, but the sun gets pretty strong in the afternoon. |

We're getting some lulls between the gusts now and how I'm enjoying the silent bits! Some of the porch railing was blown out and there was one major flicker necessitating resetting/restarting all the electronics, but we've made it so far.

Just got the alert that there's a campus-wide power outage (I live in the same town as the state university). Well, it's spring break for the kids (lucky kids); good timing! Must mean that downtown is knocked out, too.
