All of my siblings and my mum drove and ferried their way from their homes all the way to the island my Nan lives on for Mothers' Day. I said, in contradiction to the usual allusions and deceptions and confusions of our familial communications, "I'm not going. It's too much of a pain the arse to do in one day".

I'm a bad brother and son. Fortunately, I have been "the bad brother and son" (to be blamed for everything) for some years, and their efforts have finally succeeded in convincing me that, if no matter what you do you can't do anything right, then stop. I'm not sure if that's the success they were aiming for?

Happy Mothers Day to all mothers. May your wonderful children give you due appreciation.

What is the critical path out?
What is the optimal capital structure, and if the structure is optimal, why have all the buildings fallen down?

There are obviously issues with your siblings/mom. Whatever they are, they are serious enough to cause you great grief. The decision you made, to be upfront and not make excuses, is at least honest.
I'm sure you had a much more peaceful day.
