It was cold and windy today, but there were occasional breaks in the overcast. And when the sun was out it was actually pretty nice.

The "wintry mix" was lighter than expected but went on much longer than forecast. It was a nuisance to drive through, but fifteen minutes after the sun rises tomorrow there won't be anything left to clear off the driveway.

After a couple of days of almost spring temperatures we're heading back into winter again. The next couple of days the temperature will be around 0C during the day and during the night it will drop down to -4C to -7C. Which means ice-skating-on-natural-ice-fever will break out.

It was a beautiful day today -- typical for early May, not so much for February -- with temps in the mid-60s and the sky was sunny. I was able to spend an hour reading on the back deck in a light jacket.

On the other hand, tonight's expected low temperature of 33ºF is also expected to be tomorrow's high temperature. It should start snowing tonight and we're expecting 8 to 12 inches of snow (with winds of up to 40 miles per hour).

I've been keeping the snow shovels handy.
