Recently read Zo White and the Seven Morphs by Barbara Silkstone and Donna Fasano's Her Fake Romance.

I know, diverse reading at its best. :-)

I had only the final two books left so I decided to finally finish off the Harry Potter set. The Half-Blood Prince is clearly a bridge novel but does have a few moments--particularly the hunt for the Horcruxes. On the other hand, I simply can't get involved with Quidditch at all! Sections dealing with that "game" leave me cold. Fortunately there aren't too many of those scenes. The adolescent love sections are equally boring and Fred and George have been and remain the most irritating characters Rowling ever created.

I'm a completist, so I'll go on and read Deathly Hallows and hope that it is better than its predecessor.

I loved HBP, much more than the angsty OotP. TDH is amazing though, you cannot be disappointed in that one, I don't think.

Anywhere from 3 to about 8, probably average 5 or 6, I guess? I'm just starting Chapter 9 (27% on the Kindle progress bar) of 11/22/63 right now.

I'm reading the New Testament in the most likely order in which the books were written (starting with First Thessalonians and ending with Second Peter). I had pre-ordered this remarkable new work some time ago, and it just appeared on my Kindle this week. It uses the New Revised Standard Version for the for the text of the books, and has quite a bit of background material by Marcus J. Borg based on the latest consensus opinions of critical scholars.

I bought this when it first became available through Pottermore back in March 2012 (to replace my copy of "Harry Potter and the Unauthorised Ebook"). It's been a long time since I've read it, so it's time for a re-read, but I will be spreading them out, I think, rather than trying to read them all back-to-back.

And an interesting and enjoyable re-read it was, too. There's a surprising amount that makes a lot more sense knowing the rest of the story.

Next: Interzone #211, August 2007. Marking 25 years of Interzone, apparently. I have a large back-log of Interzone issues.

An interesting set of SF and Fantasy short stories. A different style to the ones in Analog and Asimov's. Also some gossip/review articles, which I mostly skipped.

I'm currently reading Star Trek: Voyager: Eternal Tide by Kirsten Beyer.

As the Voyager fleet continues its exploration of the Delta Quadrant, investigating the current status of sectors formerly controlled by the Borg becomes a key priority. Two of the fleet’s special mission vessels, the U.S.S. Galen and U.S.S. Demeter, are left at New Talax to aid Neelix’s people, while the Voyager, Quirinal, Esquiline, Hawking, and Curie do a systematic search for any remnants of the Borg or Caeliar, even as the Achilles moves to a location central enough to offer aid to the exploring vessels as needed. As this critical mission begins, Fleet Commander Afsarah Eden, who has shared what little she knows of her mysterious past with Captain Chakotay, begins to experience several more “awakenings” as she encounters artifacts and places that make her feel connected to her long-lost home.
