It was 9 F when I got up today! We've been iced in now for 3 days - in the south, DOT crews clear the interstates and major loops, NOT the neighborhoods. So you get to play the 'look out the window and watch it melt' game, or risk your life trying to drive to work without being hit by idiots who think spinning out is fun!

It might get above freezing today ... or not ...

About to bundle up to throw more bird food off the deck ...

Yep! I have no idea what our main roads look like because I know what our neighborhood streets look like, and they look like we're fine where we are for a while.

On the plus side, the snow on the roof is melting at a pretty good clip, even though the temp is currently only 27°. The good news is it's all uphill from here: 68° expected by Thursday.

Yesterday was a grey and drizzly day and for today and tomorrow the predictions are similar, though less wet. For Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday snow is predicted, though on which days changes by the hour it seems.

Next week it'll be cold week and I expect with temperatures not much higher than freezing I expect Elfstedentocht (Eleven City Tour) fever will break out.

It was 66F here today. We're supposed to get a three day none stop ice storm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Today is supposed to be in the 60s again.
