Good morning everyone! Rainy day in the Land of the Rising Yen. Typhoon is here and letting us know it. Tea this morning is unbranded Keemun... strong enough to deal with the storm.

I've been pondering the following statement I made yesterday...

Betty, I'm happy to see that you've been able to reclaim your rights to walk the streets... (is that really any better?) Anyway... I'm glad to see that you are not keeping the pepper spray in your pocket. Pockets and purses are NO place for defense tools. Get your whistle and wear it on a wrist bracelet. Then you'll stand a better chance of being able to use it when you actually need it.

When scuba diving, we have the world's loudest whistle (you can actually blow it and hear it UNDER water!) attached to the shoulder strap of our BCD vests so we can reach it just by turning our heads. Don't even have to bring our arms up to move it to our mouths. Surfacing a half mile away from the planned spot (and boat) because of ripping underwater currents, leaving one in the middle of open ocean, can be a frightening experience. It's nice to have something really loud to bring help! Of course we have visual signaling devices with us as well.

Time for a second cup of Keemun!

I'm actually drinking something besides water for a change. My nephew and his wife gave me a tea sampler from this company for my birthday. The tea is in pretty silk pyramid infusers. I decided to have something herbal tonight, so I'm sipping some Chamomile Citron. Tastes very good, at least to me.

I've got some "cranberry" tea brewing. I had wanted some peppermint tea. I thought I had bought some at the store, but I later realised that I had purchased green tea instead. I have perhaps 3 boxes of green tea at home already... oops! I will pick some peppermint tea up tomorrow, I guess.

@Stitchawl - made the mistake of reading your comments to Betty while eating. Hamburger helper does NOT mix well with laughter...
Read it to Chris and he says, "It's a darn good thing for him he's clear across the country and has a typhoon bearing down on him..." (I think he thinks Betty's going to kill you...)

@Betty - Isn't the English language grand?? *grin* And I am SO JEALOUS!! Jessica tells me the Tea Forte stuff is great, but I haven't been brave enough to order any... plus it's expensive! But I want some!

Tasting to YOUR liking is all that counts! Just because we laugh at you shouldn't influence your thinking even the littlest bit...

Just teasing. Those teas do look nice, and the simple fact that they put them out in silk pyramids speaks high praise for the company! It means they actually give a damn about how their teas taste!

On the other hand, what the heck are 'Kosher' teas? I can't think of a single paragraph in Leviticus and Deuteronomy that even mention tea, much less anything written in Halacha laws...

I'm safe. Betty knows I only have her best interests at heart... that and her corner... Well, safe from the wrath of Betty anyway. I'm not so sure about this Typhoon!

I think I'd better have another cup of tea... Maybe some Lapsang Souchong for now, and a good read!
