“Ok. Hey Hugo? We’re twins.”
YAY !!!!!!!!!!!!

Sometimes these little, autobiographical vignettes sound like the enthralling start of some noir movie (which would also very easily turn to SF - just ask the Wachowski brothers). This has been one of them. So, protagonist or antogonist, mtravellerh? Or would you like to retain a cynical, non-specific advocacy of moral relativism?

(me) I faxed it almost two weeks ago.

(me) Did you not get the fax??

(them) We can't tell you that because we don't have a power of attorney on file.

(them) No, we can't give you that information without a power of attorney on file.

(them) Yes. We can't tell you we got your fax without giving you account information.

(me) Account information??

(them) Yes, the information related to the power of attorney. We can't tell you that.

(me) Even though I'm going to be the one sending you the power of attorney.

(them) Yes. We can't tell you that without the power of attorney.

(me) Are all of the people at your bank completely insane, or it is just you?

(them) I don't think I want to continue this conversation. I'll get a supervisor ....

I think half way through that I would have started humming "there's a hole in my bucket", except the person on the other end probably wouldn't have understood the sarcasm intended...

OMG!! That was so funny!!!! That was perfection!!

I needed that. I'm in a "mood" tonight. I got one of those calls from some 800 or 888 numbers ... saw it on my caller ID and knew damn well it was going to be a sales call .... at 8:00 at night no less.

So, at the risk of boring you all with yet another conversation -- at least this one is short:

(them) May I speak to Mrs. Federlic Smavetchi??

(me) If you can't properly pronounce my f**king name, I really don't think you need to talk to me at all. Kthxbye!! (click)

Zeep .... bless you for that video!!!

I love that one too!! It reminds me of one of those old time cartoons. I love how the cat gets closer and closer, but you seldom see him move.

If you love those videos, then take a look at this one. Same cat as the box video. Check out his facial expression at the very end.

I love those calls......especially when, I kid you not, you can hear kids in the background, and the stupid woman yelling at them before she knows I"m on the line.

I've been fighting a sense of 'disaster', despair, 'something really bad is about to happen', 'there is a rip in the continuum' feeling.
Ever since Nov 5.................
