Signs of dehydration
The signs and symptoms of dehydration range from minor to severe and include:

Increased thirst
Dry mouth and swollen tongue
Weakness
Dizziness
Palpitations (feeling that the heart is jumping or pounding)
Confusion
Sluggishness fainting
Fainting
Inability to sweat
Decreased urine output

Signs of heat stroke
The hallmark symptom of heat stroke is a core body temperature above 105 degrees Fahrenheit. But fainting may be the first sign.

Other symptoms may include:

Throbbing headache
Dizziness and light-headedness
Lack of sweating despite the heat
Red, hot, and dry skin
Muscle weakness or cramps
Nausea and vomiting
Rapid heartbeat, which may be either strong or weak
Rapid, shallow breathing
Behavioral changes such as confusion, disorientation, or staggering
Seizures
Unconsciousness

No worries I'm more of ice tea drinker in the summer. Gotta have my sweet tea being you're a southerner you understand. If I start to dehydrate I drink Gatorade or something similar. Water does not work for me when it's hot. It just makes me have to make more pit stops. When I'm at home I drink plenty of water though. I'm a ice chewer (Anemia) so I pretty much chew ice all day. I can go through a bag of ice in only a few days.

Mom never goes anywhere without something cool to drink so she'll be okay. She's more accumulated to this weather than I am. Me I'm a mountain girl we don't get high temps in the Appalachians.

Now weird thing, I have never chewed ice but my iron count is off the charts the other day.

Oh and now I am wondering how your mother collects weather. We could make a fortune bottling it and selling it in the winter.
Though right now, I would like a bottle or two of winter weather.

We're fine. I'm in my cool apartment which I found the remote to my air conditioner and it's on cool instead of econ mode now. So it's 70F in here. econ can't keep up but cool does great. Someone is grilling in this heat outside and the smell is coming through the vents making my nose burn.

Mom is on her way home now. She has a/c in her house so her and sis can stay cool.

I am so glad you fixed your ac.

You have my sympathy on the nose burn.

Econ will probably work great for 2 weeks in mid-October.

A cold front has moved in ... we're going to have 2 wonderful days with no humidity and a high of 80 F .... then back to the 90+ heat and humidity levels next week ..

It is STILL air you can wear down here. I think we're in mid 80s tomorrow. There has been at least one storm every day this week, and I believe I hear the Friday edition ready to rumble by.

88 here today and loving the cooler weather. I turn the a/c off a bit then put it back on econ mode to save money.
