SLEDs
Spoiler:
Quote:
In its original coinage, RAID is an acronym for redundant array of inexpensive disks. The RAID Advisory Board (est. 1992) later redefined the acronym to mean redundant array of independent disks. Before the advent of data striping and redundant, online disks, it was common for high-capacity, high-availability data storage to rely on so-called SLEDs ("single, large, expensive disks") connected to mainframe computers.

NSQ
Spoiler:
Quote:
Native Command Queuing (NCQ) is a technology designed to increase performance of SATA hard disks on computers. It can do this under certain situations by allowing the individual hard disk to internally optimize the order in which it executes the read and write requests it received. This can reduce the amount of unnecessary drive head movement and result in better performance (and slightly decreased wear of the drive) where multiple read/write requests happen at the same time.
