Bitterly cold here ... windy ... we're under a winter storm watch tonight .... snow after midnight ...changing to a wintry mix for morning commutes ... changing to freezing rain .... changing to heavy rain ....

Sigh ... the birds know ... I filled the feeder around 1:00 today - noticed it was half empty before dinner so I topped it off for tonight and tomorrow in case it's too icy for me to get out ... veritable flocks of birds hovering around it and on the ground ...

We had crystal blue skies with brilliant sun and no clouds today. Unfortunately, the high temperature was 14ºF and there was a pretty steady wind. I sat on the deck in the sun, properly bundled, for about 15 minutes. I got more sun later as ice removal from in front of my mailbox continues.

After a light dusting of snow last night ... everything is coated with a layer of ice - like a lethal glaze - temps in the 20's F -- so nothing to do but stay inside and wait for it to melt -- allegedly later today when temps crawl into the 30's F

More snow last night than on Friday. Awoke to what looked like about 2", but it's going away fast, as the temps are rising and it's raining. 💦

We have a couple of inches of snow, which should change over to freezing rain and then rain. And tomorrow, the rain will continue.

So .... today's temps topped out at 31 F -- so all the freezing rain stuck --

But .... the temps are supposed to shoot up over night and I'm going to wake up to temps in the 60's F -- with gusty thunderstorms and torrential rain ...
Oh, and dense fog too ...

My deck is ringed with icicles, all surfaces are glazed, and the steps & driveway are death traps.

Tomorrow morning I'm predicted to drown in heavy rains, with possible severe storms ...

This is February? In what galaxy?
Whatever that groundhog is drinking, I'll have a double!
Unless he already drained the keg ...

Lake effect snows...tried to get to work and gave up half way there (I would have given up sooner but I had to go that far to find a safe place to turn around).

Yesterday = trapped at home by snow & freezing rain, temps never got above 31 F.

4:30 am = woken up by torrential rains, thunderstorms, gale force winds

-3C this morning. A bit of like snow for this morning and potentially some freezing drizzle. Freezing rain tonight and rain tomorrow. We don't get these things regularly like this year. Just so weird. The normals are still -8C and -17C for highs and lows. Tomorrow's forecast of 6C is crazy. I can't remember a February before where I have worn a rain coat (and not a winter coat) on multiple days.
