It seems I need to explain why I use a book style cover as the subtle hints aren't working. Let's hope I don't actually know one of you in real life!
I read MM romance that's a name for gay romance, as you can imagine the men I sit on the train next to would probably not really appreciate knowing that I am reading about two men having sex. Obviously that's only a very small part of what I read and the explicit content is not on all books but obviously I have an ereader so I can read what I like, I just like to be considerate to others I commute with. Is that now clear enough? Last edited by Josieb1; 11-27-2014 at 08:04 AM. |

Do people actually look at what you're reading though? I've never tried doing it and I've certainly never experience it (the reading over the shoulder I mean, in case that needs to be clarified!

What does bother people is the colour gradient that a small number of people seem to be sensitive to, but which I, for example, don't see visually at all, although I can prove to myself is there by photographic means. |

You repeatedly said this. But following your argumentation I should be experiencing the light gradient on all of my many readers, which I certainly don't.
On my Aura is a visible gradient, but not nearly as annoying as on my three Kindle Voyage. I am not able to see any gradient on my newest 6,8" Aura. My PW2 seems to be flawless too. But I sent three Kindle Voyage back, all of them with an ugly light gradient, two of them also with black dots under the glass. The design of leds at the bottom may lead to some kind of light gradient, but even though I surely am a sensitive person to this problem, to me it is not visual on every reader model. It is on the Voyage though! |

Still debating whether to upgrade from my paperwhite 2. I'm not sure if there are enough upgrades to make it worthwhile. I also have a perfect screen on my pW2, evenly lit. My pw1 had the colour hues and whilst they didn't bother me that much, now that I have a perfect screen on my PW2, if I got a voyage with a less than perfect screen (which seems likely) it would seem like a step back.

I tried to buy my Kindle after the stock had gone to 21st December delivery, which was too late for me. I searched online for bricks and mortar stores which might stock the Voyage and was surprised to find that stores like John Lewis didn't have them. Oddly though, Argos did. I always think of them as a store which gets new kit months after release. When I searched though, there was no online delivery, only in-store or click and collect, and very little stock everywhere. Luckily, my local store had the 3G model in stock.
I've been very happy with the unit so far and haven't noticed any discolouration to the screen, but I do tend to read at night and so the light is very dim the majority of the time. |

This is off-topic, but I have to ask. I've seen MM romance advertized, and while I know it's written by women (which surprises me), I figured it must be read by gay men. But women read it? I don't understand the appeal. Could you explain? Without turning the thread ultra-violet?
