I was hoping for The Room to win, being Irish and all. Sounds like an awfully depressing book though.

The Finkler Question is $18.50 in Canadian bookstores, $14.06 plus shipping as a trade paperback ordered online. Or $7.99 a kobobooks (until midnight). This is EXACTLY the sort of purchase that e-books make possible: total impulse and instant gratification. After the day I've had, I could use a little humour and The Finkler Question is the first novel of humourous fiction ever to win the Man Booker in its 42 years. I plan to giggle early and often! |

I'm a bit skeptical about this, not sure it's the kind of book I would like, but I guess I will download a sample from Amazon, if it's not geo-restricted and see for myself. I love it when a book makes me laugh, but I am a bit prejudiced against "funny" books I guess. | |

As I noted in my link in post 120, it's available from both Kobo and Amazon in Canada. Enjoy!

I missed the midnight discount coupon deadline, but did a total impulse buy from Kobo anyway. I can't wait to read it! Maybe we need to use the Man Booker jury to judge the ScotiaBank Giller next year--humour, imagine that.
