One small item. The new icon, apears very dull when pinned to the Windows 7 taskbar.

Not just under that condition, but just dark in general -- on desktop, taskbar, etc...

Absolutely love this software, use it every day.

But, after upgrading calibre to 0.7.4, I am disappointed by the user interface as I loved the UI in the previous versions. Is there anyway to change the UI back to what it was pre-.7?

I tried changing "UI Layout" from Wide to Narrow, and although it puts the Description of the books on the bottom axis, I can no longer read the description as I did with pre-.7 versions.

By 'description' do you mean comments? If the problem comes from the pane being too vertically narrow, you can drag it to make it taller. You can also click on the pane to open a full-sized view.

If it is impossible to change it back to pre-.7 UI, can I uninstall 0.7.4 and install a pre.7 version and still have all my books cataloged or will all the data entries be deleted?

I know of no reason you cannot uninstall 0.7.4 and install 0.6.55. If you have created any custom columns, you should delete them before uninstalling.

Edit: it would be a good idea to make a copy of your library before running 0.6.55, just in case.

Just installed calibre about 10 days ago for the first time. Don't know what version I have. Where do I find this info? I don't see plug ins in my preferences. Where do I find that? I just tried to install 7.4. Is it supposed to take over an hour?

Okay so I checked and I have version 0.7.4 of the program. Now how do I get my stuff into collections for the Sony PRS900. I don't see Plugins in the Preferences. Also what if I want books to be listed in more than one collection e.g. genre as a collection with author as a sub collection and series as a another.
