Honestly? I wouldn't bet on it. There was that big blow up with Hachette I think? over book pricing - Amazon wanting an even bigger cut than they were already getting which lead to Amazon removing Hachette buy links. From what I read this wasn't isolated to Hachette. They were just the ones who stood up and said no. I don't know how things turned out.

I don't think ebooks should be sold for more than $10 but on the other hand I can see why the publishers are complaining. They are setting the prices high so they make a better profit when they sell through third party sites like Amazon. Why should a third party site make as much as 65% of the cover price for just selling an ebook? If the publishers get together and try to set up their own store they would probably get sued under anti-trust/price fixing laws

Sorry, Kenny, I can't remember where I found out about the 411 page. It might have been from The Kindle 2 Cookbook: How To Do Everything the Manual Doesn't Tell You by David Emberson. The info on the serial numbers comes from one of daffy4u's posts.

I merely extrapolated from when he said he had acquired his Kindles that they were running on AT&T. Because of the nature of the Sprint and AT&T Networks the one doesn't work with the other.

Upon reflection, I think I got it from one of those sites that tell how to remove DRM from e-books. (I think I know which one, but I don't believe posting a link to that site is kosher here in the MobileRead Forums.)

We'll see... My current K2(US) runs Sprint, but the replacement unit for my second broken K2 is on its way.
