I want to enter the giveaway too!

I'm a librarian, and an early adopter of technology - I've already evangelized eBook readers with my PRS-505 in and around my work. I'd love to be able to show a different device off, so I can really provide a comprehensive view of things - none of this one system primacy stuff.

I want to enter and win!

Because my daughter is 6 year-old and starts reading voraciously already. She will really love to have an e-reader to read more!

Why I deserve to win a new reader

Count me in for the competition!
Here is my story......

- I was lifting a heavy television from the trunk of a car for my son
as my reader was stupidly left in my coat pocket. It wasn't a pretty sight!
The screen had a very ugly crack and I almost cried! That's what I get for messing with a television when we should all be reading instead!

- I ordered a screen from the 'Authorized Sony Parts Distributor' to repair
the results of my stupid television stunt. The new screen was a gem! I decided to test out the new screen before re-assembling my reader. Immediately after attaching the power supply, a part on the main board glowed bright white, fizzed and died.... As it turns out, the mainboard had been cracked as well as the screen. My reader was permanently pooched!

- I sold the screen to a member here for the same 50.00 plus shipping that it cost me. I can happily report that the member here managed to repair his
son's reader.

- The 'Authorized Sony Parts Distributor' called me 2 days ago claiming that
they mis-charged me when I bought the replacement e-ink screen. They state that I now owe them 523.00 for a PRS-500 E-Ink screen and that I must either return the screen or pay the difference!
It's a good thing I canceled an order for 10 more screens! I was going to try to help people out here and sell them for a few extra dollars to buy a new reader! I found out that Sony was offering a 100.00 repair service and figured it wasn't worthwhile any longer.

To sum it all up Sony's parts distributor now claims I owe them 523.00, my reader is dead and I no longer have the new screen! I desperately need to sit down to a new book and a hot cup of coffee! I'm on a work related injury leave and can't afford a new one. I swear
to 'your Higher power here' that I haven't exaggerated at all

Thanks guys
P.S. I wouldn't mind any one of the used ones offered here in the 'Flea Market'

Smile Contest

I would like to enter this contest. Why? Because I was watching my son play outside while reading on my reader. I set it on the table to play with him. His puppy then chewed my reader and cover up. Am I stupid? yes. Was I heartbroken and cry shamelessly? yes. Did I beat the puppy? no, not her fault, dogs love leather and metal. So please pick me!

Hi! Count me in for my giveaway! I hope the Bebook is among the available devices.
My reasons:
- Hubby and I live in a US military base in Asia where not only is space limited, but the selection of books is poor and it takes a while to get them shipped over here.
- So my husband can read many books when he's deploed/TDY.
- So I can have my e-textbooks at hand during my breaks at work.
- So I can upload my own writing and proofread my work.

. I need to show this device to my wife to convince her how a new tech can change the way we live (I tried a while already)
. I read a lot books and transport at least 30 kg books each year from my home country (far away)
. I am software developer who like all kinds of gadgets and love to share experiences and ideas with others
. I take things seriously. I love to win. I mean it. :-)

Oh, oh, oh! I'd like to win one, too!

And why would it be great, if you'd pick me?
I'd lend a reader to my lil brother, who eyed mine appriciatedly, but neither of us can afford to get (another) one.
Also I'm interested to check out the differences and would post about my impressions here.
Finally I'm a techno-gadget junkie, and need another fix soon. (My choice would probably be a PRS 700 or a new Cybook Opus.)

This contests winner should be I,
because e-Reading makes me high.
The price, said free-to-choose device,
I'd use to spread the love and word
(s),
where mobilereading's yet unheard.
Yes, winning here would be so nice.

Thank you for your attention!
*takes a bow*

Even though its not Summer over here, I hope an Australian or New Zealander wins!

They could choose a Cybook or HanLin.

(This is not an entry)

I would like to win, because i really would like to have an E-Reader, because with a Kindle, I could write on the move on my projects. (Is "on the move" the right expression here?)

Mmmm I'd love to have a Sony Reader. I don't mind the model.

Why I should get it? Well because of all of the reasons said above and down, plus because I've never won a prize in all of my life.

I'm just crossing my fingers to win. Thanks.

Well, you should pick me because I use my PRS-505 every single day up to 5 hours when visiting my wife in hospital. A backup or probably the Kindle 2 that reads would be fine.

I would like to enter the contest to win a reader of some kind. The reason I would like to enter the contest to win is not so I can get a free reader because I already have a 505. So I don't need to win. The reason I want to win is for my wife. She has a 500 and right now, I don't have the money to get her a reader with a Vizplex screen. She has an illness that is medically expensive and that does eat a fair bit of money. And her eyesight is not as good as it was. So a better contrasting screen would help her a lot. And I know we would really appreciate it. So please pick me for the reader. I would be quite grateful. Thank you.

I would like to win an ebook because I am very "green".
1. It is unnecessary to turn trees into books.
2. I have had the CyBook Gen 3 for a year and haven't read "paper" since.
3. I took an $8,000 annual cut in pay in this economy.
4. We drive a Prius.
5. We recycle.
6. My husband is visually impaired and this would let him choose a font size big enough to read without magnifying glasses.
7. I really, really want one!
8. I promote ebooks at work, at home, at play, at church . . .
9. If my CyBook breaks, I'll never be able to replace it -- and I LOVE IT!

I want to enter this giveaway.

I want to win a PRS 505 (love the 700 but I don't think I can get it in the UK yet) so I can give it to my elderly father (86) as he loves reading but books are getting heavy for him to hold for any length of time and the reader would be great for this.
