Ok - I have been using my Oberon cover for over 7 months now. It still looks new. I still love it.
My parents have kept with their M-Edge covers - my Dad's is fine, however my Mom's cover, which she probably holds for 20+ hours a week, is showing a lot of wear after it's year of use. The closure tab is almost coming off, anf the leather is very creased from folding it back. So, for her birthday on the 14th, my Dad is getting her an Oberon cover of her choice.
If ya'll would like, I can take some comparison pictures between the beta models and the final model, as well as comparison with the M-Edge. Let me know if the idea interests you.

I would love to see a comparison. I am considering buying an Oberon and already have 3 M-Edge covers.

My parents covers are even nicer than mine. I will post pictures later tonight when I get home, but just initial impressions of Oberons final product is that they are lovely! The leather has an even smoother not quite slippy feel that is just sensuous to hold. I got to hold three readers all in Oberon covers all at the same time - so very much worth it! The leather is thicker than the M-edge, which gives it a very solid feel, while at the same time being more flexible. The elastic and pewter button fastener is more durable than the M-edge tucked in leather tounge - and the elastic is easily replaceable. In fact, in comparing my beta cover with the final models, I found that the slightly loose fit on the elastic corner was actually due to the length of the elastic, and the spare elastic included with the beta cover was about half an inch shorter, so I swapped them and was pleased to find that the difference in how the reader was secured was significant. All in all, I recommend the Oberon covers to everyone - really a sturdy, enduring and beautiful product!

I am guessing the 505/700 attachment is different than the 500? though I could just rip the clip thing out of a 500 cover and mount it inside one of these.

I do have the original sony cover I am going to rip it apart later and see if I can get the clip out "intact" and how I might go about installing it into something else like the oberon cover. (they ARE very nice looking)

I like the roof of heaven in blue. IF I ever get one it will be that one most likely.

Sorry for bumping this old thread. Just curious, if it's possible to make an Oberon cover for Sony 650?

BeTePoK, Oberon's small journal cover is apparently JUST the right size for a 650.

Okay, I'm drooling over the Bold Celtic in black. Has anyone used one on a 650? If so, how did you attach the reader?

Here's mine -- I used Velcro on the corners (gluing the velcro to duct tape both on the cover and the reader). I've shaken the cover about as vigourously as I could (over cushions) and didn't come close to detaching. Sorry about the poor quality, but I finally got my webcam to work!

Very nice!

can you fold the cover behind the reader for more reading comfort?

I just got a 350 and I'm trying to figure out what case to get/make

Thanks!

I wouldn't say it's too big for a 350, no -- the 650 I find a slightly tight fit.

You can fold the cover back, although I read with it open like a book. The velcro'ing gives a bit of space where I can tuck the closure thong behind the device itself to keep it out of the way.
