I hope you get subtitles so they do not dub the film. The second book seems to be out in the UK in hardcover.

The second book (in English) is out in Australia in trade paperback, but only just, I think. I just bought the first, based on comments here.

Cheers,

Yes. Subtitles much preferred. I hate dubbed movies.

I just went online and checked. The second book is due out in hardcover July 28, 2009 here in Canada (I expect it will be the same in the US as our release dates are usually coincident). I of course will have to wait until it comes out as an ebook in english and hopefully comes with some sort of discount as well. Or maybe the library will get it.

I am a humble Canadian (sadly given this remark not a french canadian) and freely acknowledge the justice in my having to wait patiently for a translation and release into my native tongue as so many times the pendulum swings the other way.

My last purchase was Whisper to the Blood by Dana Stabenow, unfortunately I've already returned it as it turned out to be in Topaz format and I found it to hard to read.

Finished it...it was pretty good though I did get a little bored near the end.

I will probably give Hunting Ground a try though.

I'm currently about 2/3 through the first Mercy book and will probably pick up #2.

tehe.. At least I am not the only one. I just found this series. I am kinda hoping I get up to Turn Coat by the time it is released.

I was saving these books for my vacation. Which now turns out to be April 27. I am moving through these books way too quick. I might decide to tackle Codec Alera that week.

Has anyone read Mean Streets yet?

Just bought my second Kindle store/iTouch - book, In the Courts of the Sun by B. D'Amato.

It was 16.49$ and I have had a *free* publisher print arc for several months now but I found it almost unreadable due to small and unpleasant font; the print hardcover which I saw in store and could get easily from my library is better font-wise though it has more pages too, on the 700+ vs 600+ for the arc, but I decided to get the book as e despite its price since it's very entertaining and worth the money.

The first Kindle store I bought, a low price independent space opera Dark Matter was *not* drm'ed to my surprise - just straight prc and after sscp'ing it to my Pc, Calibre worked to make it lrf, and it actually reads well on the Touch too.

This one was drm'ed, but the usual worked as a charm

Last e-book I bought was Saul David's 'Indian Mutiny - 1857' - couple of weeks ago from Waterstones in the UK.

I've always loved George MacDonald Fraser's Flashman series of books (highly recommended, although I can't find them as e-books anywhere) and although they are historical fiction, I do try to read real history books around them - one of the Flashman books is set during the Indian Mutiny (Flashman and the Great Game) so I thought I'd read up about it.

This is an excellent book - really well written and just draws you in to the 'story'. (Warning - parts of this are not for the faint-hearted!).

The last ebook I bought was I Am America (And So Can You) by Stephen Colbert from Amazon. I went on a buying spree last week since that was when I received my Kindle. I'm finding it almost too easy to buy too many books now.
