yeah I missed the *Calibre's* version bit and was fully aware of that omission.
![]() typing economy can surely lead to incomplete expressions! I'm not planning to release the new version right now so users can breath the "no updates needed" fresh air for a while. edit: I meant 'provide compatibility for 5.44 min calibre version' Last edited by Comfy.n; 01-10-2026 at 09:15 PM. |

yep, but I think the new button still makes for a convenient addition.
I often duplicate toolbar items across Calibre UI locations (e.g. sort by) |

First time I can recall seeing a plugin/addon developer tweak their code to be compatible with an earlier version of the base product - version 2.n of CCR had a minimum calibre version of 6.25.

@Comfy.n - Could you remove the extra text that is written at the top of the Shortcuts CSV in version 3, or make it optional. I have to edit the CSV in a spreadsheet to make the file useful in Nirsoft's "CSV FileViewer" :grrrh:
And could you add a "Don't show again" checkbox to this popup (or get rid if it). BR Last edited by BetterRed; 01-15-2026 at 03:39 AM. |

@BR - I've uploaded a new test version to post #2.
CSV exports from now on will not append any headers. You'll notice I tweaked the system information to display the full Windows version including UBR (err... not you BR. Update Build Revision, that is) Spoiler:

Hi @BR, I am working on a couple of new features and updates for the upcoming calibre 9 release.
Will soon provide a test version. If you can test my other recent plugin releases, I'd appreciate it: OPF Helper https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=371086 RSS Reader https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=371755 |

What I know about OFP files would fit on the back of a penny black stamp. I strip all that I can with ModifyEPUB, and then use Sigil's Metadata Editor to remove the non-essential DC elements… description, subjects etc. And I use Feedly for RSS, that's not going to change. BR |

Off the top of my head, these are the changes:
- add enable/disable actions on Plugins tab; this is in preparation for calibre 9 - add configure selected plugin action - add is_disabled operator to advanced search - add is_configurable column and operator to advanced search - keep only the plugin preferences icon-only action (button on main dialog footer) - make the plugin preferences button, by default, display user installed plugins and expand the plugin tree - I made the shortcuts update correctly (not display None, as your screenshot depicted). Edit: not entirely fixed. Working on it. Edit2: now it looks fixed. - Moved tab shortcuts to be beside Plugins tab, and tab Actions to be beside Shorcuts tab. I bumped the version intentionally, to make it easier to distinguish CCR test version. Last edited by Comfy.n; 02-13-2026 at 07:04 AM. |

CCR 3.0.3 removed the only CCR shortcut I did use - the one that opened it, which was named (by you) so that it appeared at the top of the CCR shortcut list… now it's parked in the middle.
CCR 3.0.3 not only uses some of my existing custom shortcuts — e.g. Alt+C for Count Pages, Alt+M for Modify EPUB, it also uses baseline calibre shortcuts — e.g. Alt+A for Books by same Author! I suggest you remove the setting of defaults for all CCR shortcuts from the install, set them all to None, and leave setting them to the people who want them. Other than the one to show the CCR window I've set them all to None. There is a mistaken belief among people who don't use shortcuts extensively, that people who do, have a shortcut for everything under the sun. Most don't, they use shortcuts for the actions they use a lot, and they set shortcuts to actions they rarely use to None… lest we press them inadvertently. Calibre 8.16.2 sets 73 default shortcuts, I've retained 7 of them, the rest I've customised, in many cases to None. BR |
