The Pi uses the realVNC server so the best complement to that is a realVNC viewer/client. Use the free version from their official webpage. |

Sometimes/Some books: A message appears at the bottom: Failed to open book. File does not exist or is not accessible I repaired the db at calibre yesterday, but at calibre-web this message still is going on with some books - any idea? |

"File does not exist or is not accessible" 1 - check if file exists 2 - check if file is a format readable by calibre-web (epub etc.) 3 - check if file is readable by calibre-web if not: sudo chmod /calibre-web/books -R 755 |

1 - book to large? 2 - book is corrupted; can you read this book in calibre? |

Then I do not know why. But if it all works...... keep testing to find a common factor. |

things are running well - but: As I usually do not shut down my PC (it goes to sleep by night) the browser keeps open. Therefore, the browser does not start again once a day and transfer the updated ip address to freemyip.com in order to reach the address given to me. The site of calibre-web therefore is blocked (until I do it manually). This is for sure not the solution to reach calibre-web at everytime from everywhere to everybody, as long as I am not present in front of my PC |

Do you have an idea how often your WAN (external) IP changes? (Once a day/hour/every connection) |

To solve this you need to update (example) huber70.freemyip.com daily. Preferably just after the IPv4 if your WAN has changed. To do this do the following on your Pi in the terminal. 1 - crontab -e (if there is a choice, choose 1 - nano) 2 - add to the bottom of the file: 5 */4 * * * curl https://freemyip.com/update?token=xx...0.freemyip.com This runs the browser-command every 4 hours on 5 minutes past the hour. The domain name is renewed every 4 hours, that should be enough if you leave your Pi on for 24 hours a day. 3 - CTRL-X Saves the file and closes the editor. That should do it for now. You do not need to keep your browser open any more. Please test for 1 to 2 days! |

NO problem! If the file saved without errors it will work as intended (hopefully). PS: Got any further with the error message in calibre-web? |
