Did you install Qt6 first? If not, how is Calibre 6.0 working? If so, how did you get Qt6 installed? I don't see Qt6 in the mint/ubuntu repositories.
Do you have the DeDRM plugin installed and is it working? I have seen references to problems with it in this thread. In addition to this one I have the DeACSM and Hyphenate-this plugins installed and would need them all working before I could move from 5.44 here. Dave |

I actually think that for some fonts Qt is now choosing the light/medium faces rather than the regular face. Simply reselecting the font in Preferences->Look & feel where you can specify the exact face should fix it.

You dont need Qt 6, calibre comes with its own copy. All you need is a recent enough glibc and the installer will refuse to install if it detects you dont have one.

No, only calibre can use its private copy of Qt6.

Is there a way to change that, so that others programs could use it?
Alternatively, should I find a way to get a shared copy of Qt6 installed, would your installer continue to install and calibre continue to use the private copy? Dave |

calibre binaries use private copies of everything except a few system libraries, by design.

Edit: My test for this procedure was done on a MacOS Monterey 12.4 virtual machine. I copied over 4 non-DRMmed epubs and used DeACSM to load 2 epubs from .ascm files. Last edited by DNSB; 07-12-2022 at 11:22 PM. |

Thanks so much Kovid! This fixed the issue of thinned fonts for me.

The issue only seems to affect Macs. If you're not getting crashes upon adding books, I wouldn't bother. I've been using DeDRM without issue on Windows.
