You keep repeating that. But Amazon also made the Voyage, which has the best and sharpest screen of all ereaders I've ever seen. And it's flush.

Also the latest Oasis with a flush screen has better contrast than the Libra with a recessed screen.

So no, flush doesn't automatically mean less contrast.

On my side, I decided to preorder both the Libra2 and the Sage to compare and see the potential improvements. I will probably keep only one of them though.

Never has happened to me. Or so seldom I can't remember it. Might have something to do with the way people hold their Libra, perhaps. We all know it can be quite different.

This happened to me many times. Not everyday, but enough to be frustrating.
I'm having my Libra replaced by Kobo right now, hopefully it's something that won't happen with the replacement.

Just ordered the Sage + sage cover from Fnac (Paris): the reader will be available only from 22 October, while the cover will be from 19 October. I don't know wether it is because some were available from 19 October but were already pre-ordered or not. Anybody in France ordered earlier and had it announced for 19 October? If so I suppose you ordered more black than sage covers.

The Libra buttons are perfect if pressed at the outer curved ends. They don't work by pressing on the inner straight edges. On opening the reader the reason is obvious. The "tact" switchs' buttons are at the curved ends.

I've just done a search for "libra buttons" here at MR, and the overwhelming majority of mentions of problems are posts from you saying that you've heard of such problems.
