The stack of keys I have I really must go through at some point. I have several different keys to my mother's house (different doors and pre- and post-alarm installation), new and old front door key at my current place, old luggage lock keys for suitcases that went to the tip years ago... Keys from when we cleared my late father's flat in the Lebanon... Mysterious keys inherited from elderly relatives when we cleared their house...

The real question is, do you have different colors for different keys or not?

One key fits all locks in my house. It is a different shape than the one that works on the locks in my store. Everyone of my keys is a different shape so I do not need to color code them.

Speaking of that, I wish it was as easy to lockpick a closed door IRL as it is in movies.
It'd have saved me a few bucks those times I'd locked myself out of the car and the house. |

Even trained people using lockpicks in real life can't do it as fast as they can on screen. They always have them put it in and click it is unlocked as fast as if they had used a key.

I did this to the security manager who wrote me up for leaving my desk unlocked. His desk, file and storage (all keyed alike) using MY desk key. I said 'these locks are cr*p, why bother locking? ' I have done this to a number of other cheap locks over the years. Those Round keys won't allow 'my trick' |
