Anyone here having issues with Nova 2 in direct sunlight? The screen goes dark wherever the sun shines on the the screen in apps that use the pen input like the default Note app and Neoreader.

I noticed this yesterday when I was reading outside. I think I saw something from Onyx saying that it is related to the wacom overlay for notes, and a software update could help, but no timeline.

Mine pretty much disappeared after the last update - it was pretty strong before, but I haven't tested it long before or after

This is the official response from Onyx:

“Hi. News from our R&D team. Neoreader will pre-process to minimize the latency of note-taking. The problem you came across is due to the pre-response of the e-ink screen. An update pack for this problem will be released soon. And we think about developing a switch selection for our customers.”

Hey, got this ebook last night. I normally read before sleep in complete darkness. And even the minimal backlight settings are way too bright. Is there any way to lower it even more?

I don't use it, but many readers allow you to switch to a grey text on black background night mode.

I'm not sure if the Neoreader default does. It's an option on Moonreader.

I'm using fb2reader. It has inverted mode. But it doesn't cancel the fact that even the lowest setting in absolute darkness is still too bright

Just search and try it on your Android phone or tablet.

Nova2 displays most of my websites with a proper text size. More annoying are websites with other than white background color or too many animations.

Hi, on my Nova 2 I can set light so low that screen is barelly visible in a dark room.

This problem is caused by the program of pre-responding. Please tell me your mac address so we can push an update package that can cope with this problem.

I got two updates today to address the problem. I have not had a chance to test it out yet.

I tested, the sun bug persists - it's not as bad as it used to be, but it's not fixed.
So it looks like after 2 minutes in the sun.

i also got two updates today.
the second one "fix dark spots in direct sunlight while writing" fails
system recovery tells me something about wrong dev keys ??
maybe its because my device is rooted ?
