It is a bit odd. I've noticed this every since the patch for customizing the flash was no longer able to be made. So this has been happening for a number of previous firmware and could maybe have been happening for a lot longer.

You may have something there. I had to set my refresh really frequent as :
1) coming out of sleep, the edges faded so bad they were not readable and a simple back-forward was needed to force a refresh.
2)While it has not done it since the FW update, on rare occasions I would see the current page just 'dark fog' out while I watched. (Not the way e-ink is supposed to do.

Odd, but maybe it makes sense? Often new chapters begin with larger text or an image, which would benefit from doing a full refresh on the next page?

I just noticed this myself. Not that I'm reliant on the pin code for complete device security, but that this happens isn't really useful. Luckily, it's only on startup and not after sleep, but from what I can tell, it looks like it auto logs in when it's actually supposed to go to sleep if no code is entered (the period of time is the same in both cases).

If a pin is activated to wake up from sleep mode and to startup, it works for wake up from sleep but fails on startup.
If I shutdown the device then startup it, the pin is asked but if I wait few seconds to 1 minute (depends of the model), home screen appears even if I don't type the pin code !

EDIT : I tested this behavior on the firmware not patched, but I've previously installed the screensaver provided in this thread on the previous firmware I used (4.12). The screensaver still works after firmware upgrade to 4.20.
I don't use the PIN lock, so never test this. But, I have reported it to Kobo and it should be fixed in the next release.

Sorry for my bad english (I'm french).
Yes, I agree with both of these ideas.

OK, how do I cleanup (empty in my case) collections now that Series has its own home and Calibre has populated that? Doing that on my Aura2 is tedious

Just remove the series column from the field in the driver configuration (I don't remember it's name). Next sync it will update the collection data and voila, all gone

And you need to make sure the "Delete empty collections" option in the driver is selected. You also need to make sure there is at least one column in the collections field. If there are no columns specified, then the collection management isn't done. Which means the series collections won't be deleted.

It used to increment the filename (4.7 on Original H2O?). When did it stop?
