I've updated to the november update, but still no-go on Play Store. It goes through the logon process then dies just after accepting the backup settings. Tried rebooting, disabling play store and running the registration process again. Might have to try a factory reset, but hesitant to lose the apps I managed to install the one time the play store worked.

But don't resolve the more important failure, google store don't recognize buyed apps. And the apps you install from store or by sideload apk are not recognized by the ereader. Yes they install, you can execute them. But if you try to use colordict or goldendict from moonreader (for example) it says there is no dictionary installed. If you go to the library an want to assing an alternate reading program there is no more programs thante neo reader. It's like you have no one installed.

Some one knows where is the screensaver located in the system files?. I see you can change the screensaver from filemanager but if i want to recover the official screensaver i don't see an option for it.

You are saying that even if you install .apk file from other source (not google play) it will still not run properly? If its true, that its a real problem which I hope will soon be resolved.

I really like the Nova but will wait to see will the problems get resolved before I make the purchase.

The applications works. But it's like it's not registered, and if other app is going to use it you can't because it's like not installed. Goldendict the dictionary is used by some reading apps, like moonreader. When you want to use it you can't moonreder says there is no dictionary installed.

And if you want to assign to the main library an alternative reading app... the same. It didn't show installed reading apps.

Yes for me it's a serious failure. Thats why if you want this functionality i see this reader it's not ready, and the firmware needs important fixes.

Look in the apps, you need to unfroze playstore in the manage option. I don't remember if you need to unfroze he other google app that it's there too. I think it's only playstore. If the froze option is active the app crashes althought you are executing it.

Thank you for the explanation, very appreciated. For me this is a serious problem and I really hope Onyx will solve it sooner than later.

and in the pre loaded onyx app store, in the first page you should find an app called play store login patcher.

it should be installed and in the settings Enable Google play.

then i dont remember did i register through google play store or through the patcher; but since yesterday i faced no issue, rebooted multiple times but did not ask me to login again

I had no login issue with the Play store too. Rebooted and started the play store without further login.

yeah i read somewhere here where they could log in for once then after rebooting they had to log in again or something

Can someone try to play a 480p video with VLC or BsPlayer and thell to us if you can do it witout any lag? With the N96ML I am able to do it, but with the Likebook Mars I can't, so maybe I return it nd buy the Onyx Nova, depending on the answer.

You can easly find 480p videos on any torrent search engine

I compared the Nova with Mars many time, finally I order a Mars from their Germany store: https://ereader.store/en/boyue-likebook/-20boyue-likebook-mars-t80d-41.html#/2-features-device_only. I need a smooth reading, so eight core will be better for me maybe.

By "unfroze" I guess you mean "enable"? The app is enabled, I've also tried to force stop it and enable Google Play Services. Still no go.

Tried all this several times, but thanks anyway. Going to have to try a factory reset.

In addition to this it would be very good to know if Nov can play youtube videos. I tried with theLikebook Mars via Youtube Vanced and NewPipe andd the image doesn't appears. Also tried within the web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Firefox rocket and Opera mini) and this neither work.

That function is so important for me, and depending on your answer I wil return the Mrs and buy the Nova Thanks

Just got mine from Booxtor yesterday evening, and i spent an hour with a couple of failed attempts at enabling google play, then i loaded a book :-)
Is there a way to get rid of that annoying icon to the chinese library shop ?
I understand having the app freezed inside, but not fixed on the side bar.

The autofroze need to be deactivated. If activated i supose it closes some processes and crashes.
If autofroze it's deactivated and doen't work, try a reboot.
