what master of the blindingly obvious with no grasp of the official terminology called you "supremely silly" ? (we should buy him / her a drink).

aha, now there is a fascinating question. has anyone yet attempted to determine, scientifically, the degrees of silliness ? perhaps this bears examination. at the very least it panda bears examination. or it might, except that pandas aren't bears, and also i have it on good authority that llamas are the new panda so i suppose i should really say "it llamas examination." please discuss.

I would say that the lemma of that research would be that Silliness, being a pervasive state, can be measured by the use of the unit Bob. One Bob being the force created by applying one gsnort to one liter of credule. The resulting shift in credulity being the Bob.

all in favor of the use of "bob" as unit of silliness ?

"aye"

good. We declare the unit of silliness to be called "bob". (it's about time pshrynk got to name something bob around here).

"Transcendent Silliness" is an anagram of "Scent-installed Sinners".

Coincidence?

Probably.

I'd say that it was only about a half a bob. The Bob-o-Meters are on back order with Amazon, unfortunately. They seem to be getting their supply from a place called Montymaggie (Holdings) LLC.

Silly Marc, miso has no caffeine!

I forgive you for speaking so rudely of my favorite beverage, however. (I put it down to caffeine withdrawal. )

Oh, I got ever so drunk last night. It was so much fun .... although it rained a lot of the time, so we stayed on the porch instead of going into the pool.

And, even better, we're having another party on Friday.

Picture of Bob

Here's a picture of Bob from the photo section of my profile. Poto Bob is one of the cast of characters that roam around my office.

He is flattered that you have chosen him as your unit of silly measure. He deems it an honor and his just due.

He loves llamas, medium rare with a bit of mint jelly on the side.

bob is clearly a worthy mascot of Unutterable Silliness, despite the fact that he is neither a panda nor a llama (and not even a squirrel). well, nobody's perfect. he makes up for it with that ineffably goofy expression.

I'm sure Bob is entirely suitable as a unit measure of silliness, but while I find the preference for mint jelly plausible, he doesn't seem to have the dentation (not to mention evolutionary history) to enjoy eating llamas.

Still, who am I to argue with such an august personage?
