You know at the end of the day all we the buyer want is to know it's coming and not be subjected to the "Heisenberg's uncertainty principle". Because as long as I know it is coming and can track it, I'm really fine with that knowledge. But not knowing is what frustrates me the most..

If they knock! I was home waiting for a package (via USPS) that required a signature and they didn't even knock. Very frustrating, I left on vacation the next day so it had to sit at the PO for a week.

Both the device and the cover have abandoned the black of the previous models for a dark grey. Subtle, but I noticed it and like it.

Well looks like my AK1 is in Anchorage Alaska, so I am hopeful it will get here sooner than Wednesday! Day 1 will soon be done and day 2 will begin, I feel like a kid at Christmas.

I feel absolutely giddy.. it's in Memphis TN TODAY....... woot woot!

For all those still waiting for any kind of shipping notification you may be interested to know I received mine on Friday. I only ever got an order confirmation email from Kobo at 12:39am EDT on 8/30. No shipping notification and even the FedEx system said I had nothing incoming. Lucky my wife was at home to sign for it. It came from Hong Kong via FedEx and included my Sleep Cover. So if you haven't heard anything it may still arrive when you least expect it.

My KA1 was shipped from Canada, and reached Detroit on Friday, but over the weekend the "expected date of delivery" changed to "unknown" with the reason "Held in Warehouse". I have no idea what it means, although from what I have been reading online "held in warehouse" sounds like a customs issue.

Looks like this is gonna take a while. Sigh. The path of true love never does run smooth, there's many a slip 'twixt the cup and the lip, etc....

My KA1 finally shipped as well. I'm a bit amused to see that your order going to the US shipped from Canada yet my order going to a Canadian address shipped from Hong Kong with a stop in Memphis. Oh well; it's supposed to be here Wednesday. Looking forward to it.

For those of you waiting and wondering, here is my delivery timeline from Kobo (note, I am in Ontario Canada).

I ordered on the 6th (the site said it was out of stock and expected to be back in stock on Sept 15th when I placed my order). So I did not expect it to ship until sometime after the 15th.

But after not receiving an order confirmation after placing it (yes I checked my junk folder) I started to harass them on the 7th (very politely) requesting confirmation and wondering when it would ship. I kept getting automated replies via email that didn't really make sense to what I was asking, so I kept responding. On the 8th they replied to me that they would have it shipped out within 2 business days. It shipped the next day (the 9th) which was Friday just passed.

Today (monday the 12th) it is here!!! So…. ordered on the 6th, shipped on the 9th (with a bit of pushing on my part) and delivered on the 12th (that's only 5 business days from date of order to date of delivery).

In a chat on the 2nd I asked my order status and was told my inquiry would be sent to the shipping dept. and I would have an answer in 24-48 business hours. On Monday the 5th I got an email saying my inquiry had been sent and I would be hearing from the shipping dept. This morning, the 12th I have an email from the shipping dept. that my reader has been shipped and that it was delivered. Yes it was, on Friday, the 9th.
