I have the Amazon Visa card from Chase, but I don't appear to have qualified for any of the extra deals. I did have about $9 in points built up though, and used them on the Echo purchase. But I could have used those points on any card purchase any time--so that wasn't really a deal as such.

For the $30 off you just need to buy $150 worth of stuff sold by Amazon.com. I ordered zit stuff, refill blades for hubby, a Sonicare electric toothbrush that also had a $10 coupon, and a few other things I don't need immediately but will definitely use.

Cool looking watch. But I have way too many now, so I definitely don't need it.

Looked through the deals in men's clothing section as I could use some cargo pants--can never have enough pockets! I had to laugh when I saw a leather bomber jacket included. Yes I know one can purchase now something they won't use for half a year, but looking at winter jackets when the heat index outside is hitting 100+ degrees every day in the hot Texas sun...

I think they're underestimating people's patience for their horrible UI. I usually try looking through the deals, realize I need to scroll through multiple, horrible horizontal scrolling things and give up after a couple of minutes. I end up deciding there's nothing I need badly enough to keep bothering. Basically this would be like a grocery store placing random land mines and booby traps all through the store, and hoping you're desperate enough for some random sale item to run the gauntlet.

Just 65F? It's 86F at the moment, which Weather Underground claims feels like 95F. (I agree, it's awful out there.) Something like 100% humidity too, feels much like a sauna.

When the remote acts up I often pull out my iPhone and use the Fire TV remote app on it. It is always reliable. When I first got the Fire TV I forgot that I still had a remote for the older Fire TV Stick I bought and rarely used. The original Stick was terrible. I found that older remote one day and removed the batteries from it. That Stick remote had not been used in 1 1/2 years, so I'm surprised the batteries were still good, but at any rate after I basically disabled the Stick's remote the newer remote started behaving a lot better. But it still freezes up every one in a while. I get the feeling the Alexa feature will be interfering with the Echo I bought, so that might be another issue to resolve!

Y'all live in the wrong part of the country. Move up here to the Emerald City where the skies are blue at least 3 or 4 times a year.
